Excursions Details:

1. Pick Up

Your day begins with a comfortable pickup from your accommodation in either Marrakech or Agadir by a private driver in an air-conditioned vehicle. As you journey through the scenic Moroccan countryside, you’ll pass through rolling hills, argan tree groves, and small Berber villages. Along the way, you may even spot goats climbing the argan trees, a famous sight in this region. The drive to Essaouira takes approximately two and a half hours, offering plenty of time to enjoy the changing landscapes and get excited about your arrival in the coastal city. You can  (if you want) make a stop to visit a local cooperative of Argan oil

2. Arrival in Essaouira and Exploring the Medina

Upon arrival in Essaouira, you’ll be greeted by the refreshing Atlantic breeze and the sight of the city’s distinctive whitewashed buildings with blue shutters. Start your exploration in the UNESCO-listed medina, known for its laid-back atmosphere and charming narrow streets. Wander through bustling souks filled with local crafts, textiles, and art. Essaouira is famous for its woodworking, so be sure to stop by some of the artisan workshops where craftsmen create intricate pieces from fragrant thuya wood.

3. Visit to the Historic Skala de la Kasbah and the Port

Next, make your way to the Skala de la Kasbah, the historic sea bastion built to defend Essaouira from invaders. Stroll along the fortified ramparts, where you’ll find 18th-century cannons and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocky shore. From here, head to the nearby fishing port, where you can witness the vibrant daily activity of local fishermen bringing in their catch. The port is also home to Essaouira’s iconic blue boats, creating a perfect backdrop for memorable photos.

4. Fresh Seafood Lunch by the Sea

For lunch, enjoy a fresh seafood meal at one of the local restaurants near the port. Essaouira is renowned for its seafood, and you’ll have the chance to sample freshly caught fish, shrimp, calamari, and more. Whether dining at a casual outdoor grill or a cozy seaside eatery, the flavors of the ocean paired with the tranquil setting make for an unforgettable culinary experience.

5. Stroll Along the Beach or Camel Ride

After lunch, take some time to relax by the beach, where the long stretches of sand invite you to take a peaceful stroll or simply unwind. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also enjoy a camel or horse ride along the shore. Essaouira’s beach is perfect for these activities, offering gentle waves and stunning views of the ocean. For those interested in water sports, windsurfing and kitesurfing are also popular here, thanks to the city’s reliable coastal winds.

6. Visit the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and Art Galleries

Before leaving, explore Essaouira’s Jewish heritage by visiting the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter of the city. You’ll discover synagogues, historical sites, and a rich blend of cultures that have influenced Essaouira’s unique character. The city is also home to a vibrant art scene, so don’t miss the chance to visit one of the many art galleries showcasing contemporary Moroccan artists and their works.

7. Leisure Time and Activity Booking
